Hi Reader,
Here’s some stuff worth your time…
Judy Estrin argues against the current approach to AI, which is being controlled by a small number of tech leaders who are striving for absolute idealogical power. She argues that we need checks and balances to ensure that better decisions are made. We need to establish clear guidelines around privacy, security, and ethics. AI has great potential, but it won’t be good if it is all ruined by the idealogical whims of those leading tech companies.
The article above relates closely to the podcast that I released a few days ago with Kevin Shindel. In it, we discuss several of the same ideas, including a moratorium on adopting AI technologies in schools for the reasons cited in Judy’s article above.
For the last seven years, I’ve loved running a mastermind with principals from all over the world, and I’ve learned so much from group coaching stellar principals.
One thing I’ve learned is that I personally don’t know how to run a Catholic school. I’ve never done it.
I’m excited to announce that I’m partnering with John Mihalyo to create a mastermind just for Catholic School Principals. This will be focused on the specific needs you have as principals in those unique schools.
John has been a public school and catholic school principal and when he’s not hosting the mastermind, he teacher Catholic school principals how to increase their fundraising.
If you’re a principal in a Catholic school, please go here to get more information.
And forward this on to your Catholic school principal friends.
If you’re not part of AILeader, get in here!
This week I added videos about Readwise Reader and how to process data with Code Interpreter to AILeader.
Also, I have two AI webinars on Thursday for school leaders in South Dakota and Arizona. If you’re in one of those states and aren’t registered, hit reply and I’ll send you the links.
To your success,
Jethro

July 02, 2025 Hi , I felt like an idiot. I’ve been using AI for years, but this week I took an assessment on how well I can use AI. It was humbling to say the least. The challenges were very technical, included word games, outputting things just right, and process/flow charts. Man, it was tough. It was a timed test, and I never got the first question right. I had to skip it and come back later, which I did, and I’m glad I did because I still couldn’t figure out how to get it to format it...
July 02, 2025 Hi Reader, I'm excited to announce we have two new podcasts on the BE Podcast Network. Improving Education Today: The Deep Dive You've probably heard of AI tools to create content. The eternal problem will always be, garbage in-garbage out, which means if you start with something low quality, you'll get low quality out the other side. Dr. Howie Knoff has been doing just the opposite, creating high quality articles and turning those into meaningful podcasts with AI Educators...
